Located in the shadow of Ganesh Himal, Ruby valley Trek shows for one of the most eccentric views of the Ganesh Himal (7,422m), Langtang Lirung (7,234m), Bouddha Himal and many others. Ruby Valley is named after the deposits of the Gem Ruby found in the area and although the extraction and availability are not that popular, the trek to this hidden and uncharted area has become more and more popular among the Nepalese and foreigners alike.
Not only the view of the mountains, hills, and forest, we will also be acquainted with several local Gurung and Tamang people. This trek to the Langtang region has become one of the most sought trekking destinations in the area. With the ethnic settlements in the area along with the rich and unique tradition, the amalgamation of nature and cultural importance that this trek holds are truly amazing. With the snowcapped mountains to the lush green forests, this is a must trek for all trekkers and nature lovers. Located between the Langtang National Park and Conservational Area, this trek enables us to view the exquisite waterfalls, wildflowers and various wildlife in the area. There is also a lake called Kalo-Set-Kunda which translates into Black and White Lake that is fed by the glaciers.
We start off this trek by driving to Syabrubesi– which lies north of Kathmandu. Then we will enter the protected Langtang National Park, the gateway to the Langtang Valley and to the Ruby Valley. From there we will trek to Pangsang Pass (3,842m) the highest point of the trek and the major attraction of this entire journey. The Ganesh Himal Range is easily visible. The area has some of the best viewpoints from where we can see the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. We can also visit the hot springs and relieve our body and mind of stress and fatigue. This has also become increasingly popular among the trekkers. From there we will trek to Darkha Gaun and then return back to Kathmandu.

As with every other trek in the Langtang region, the best time to travel is either Spring (March-May) or Autumn (September – November). Although other time of the year can also be used to trek around the harsh climate of the winter and rainy will provide many hurdles to your trek.
This is an easy trek so this is a perfect trek for Novice trekkers. The highest altitude is 3,842m so the probability of altitude sickness is rather low. The trails are not difficult and you can enjoy the scenic nature and culture without much difficulty. However, the more advanced trekkers will not be disappointed either. With the variation and diversity in nature, land, and wildlife, this trek is a must for all.
